Dimitri Panou is a Research Assistant at Toronto Metropolitan University. He currently works with Dr. Nemoy Lewis to explore the impacts of financialization on rental housing for Black renters in Toronto and in other key urban centers.   

Presentation Title: Filling the Gaps: Evictions and Government Policy in Vancouver During COVID-19

This webinar takes a look at the Filling the Gaps Vancouver report, which explores eviction filing data from 2010-2022. Geographic variations in eviction filing and COVID rates and benefits were mapped to identify specific geographic regions in the Metro Vancouver area that were disproportionately impacted by COVID-19 and evictions and the potential role that government programs played in mitigating evictions during the pandemic.
